So I live in a apartment which is owned by the student union. When they asked me if I had any preferences for who I wish to share with I said females only.
I have my reasons.
I don't want to share them.
Today I get a phone call asking if I was comfortable living with a guy and I said no.
They said if he wants to live there that they can't stop him from signing the lease.
WTF?!?
how is that fair?
I know that there's heaps of empty rooms with the union atm because their prices are too high and majority of students have preplanned to get a private rental with friends.
So what can I do now?
I guess I have to wait til sunday when I get home to find out if I have to share with a guy ._.

The plane of the eternal nightmares
So I fly a lot.
like once a month thanks to having to see specialists in another state.
So I'm kinda used to delays etc, but last night was not fun.
Last night after having a long day of being poked and probed I get to the QANTAS terminal.
One of the security screening machines brakes down and what was already 4 incredibly long lines turn into 3 huge lines.
Finally get in and wait for my flight at the gate (always a good time to go sit and read for my course work) it's the only gate without air conditioning.
15 minutes before boarding and we get moved to another gate. so everyone gets and moves and sits down, everyone gets comfortable and waits. 10 minutes later, it's apparent that we aren't going to leave on time, one because there has been no calls to prepare for boarding and well one of the engines is being worked on.
another half an hour later we get moved to another gate WHICH IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TERMINAL.
at this stage to say I wasn't happy is an understatement.
finally after trekking to the otherside of the terminal and another 30 minute wait we finally get on the plane.
I hate flying.

Because failure is always an option on the internet
Today I am a failure.
on the internet.
Ok so I'm on gaiaonline, I do a lot of charity work on their. Not proper real world charity, but like giving people pixels to match their other pixels charity.
(Hey I enjoy it, don't knock it til you try it.)
Anyway decided that we weren't getting applicants because the thread was super long so what did I do?
Made a new thread.
For the last four days it has been a failure of EPIC proportions.
Seriously.
I am even giving out things if people POST in the thread
and that's not even enough.
To paraphrase Makie from Negima "I have failed at being charitable."

Sorry for the break in transmission
I've been busy.
31st October
Went to Hilltop Hoods in Launceston
Thanks Roland for chillin with me, only in Launceston with you can I sit in a half empty hall at a hip hop concert and still talk about anything/everything
3rd November
Birthday, nothing great. Turned 23
9th November
Had to study for an exam for ancient civilasation literature.
I did well except for the question on Medea where I called Jason's new wife something completely different to what her real name is and that he was going to be the king of Athens when he did.
No matter the amount of study, thanks to anastetic and 3 weeks comatose the old memory box is a bit of fail
12th November
Flew to Melbourne for surgery
13th November
Spent 5 hours under the knife, all went well. This time instead of vomiting bright green spew from morphine , they gave me another pain killer which worked brilliantly, except for the uber mood swings
and they were uber
17th November
was released from hospital, flew home with slight discomfort. It feels like what I imagine would be like being kicked in the nuts, but internally, plus pressurised cabin probably is not that good of an idea either
What I want to know is why don't we have a urogynaecologist in Tasmania?
It sucks the constantly putting my life on hold so I can travel for hospital visits
anyone would think that Tasmania is actually an annexe of Victoria

the ebay blog
I like ebay.
It allows me to buy crap I never knew exsisted or wanted.
It also allows me to get excited about packages arriving in the mail.
It also allows me further down the track to sell the stuff that I no longer want without having to deal with (many) fuckwits which is also an enjoyable experience in itself.
You see, since I was about 10 every so often when my parents got sick of the amount things we had collected over a year we'd either have a garage sale or a stall at the market, where in which one has to deal with people knocking at your door at 5am on a saturday to ask if the garage sale had started yet or whether or not you accept $5 for something that was marked $40, and would most probably see later in the day on their market stall marked at $150.
Ladies and gentlemen, these people are what we call vultures.
They prey on the naive and stupid purely for profit and pleasure
and they piss me off.
So I have no resolved that ebay = not dealing with vultures
therefore making ebay a member of the awesome pile and getting vultures a place in the fail room

Time to look at the fail room and the awesome pile
Today I’m bringing back my two favourite things
The awesome pile and the fail room.
(hopefully they will be back every Friday)
So lets start with the Fail Room
*My upstairs neighbours whom play techno music until 3am at least 3 times a week. Manners; they don’t have them.
*I know this is somewhat late but it’s still a fail, but Brynne Groden‘s dress at the brownlow. IT was just plain WRONG
*the Cheese and Vegemite concoctions new name of “iSnack 2.0” more like iFail 2.0. It was pulled off the shelves within four days.
*Gaiaonline.com’s lotto, where in which they’ll give you 2 of the 5 winning numbers if you pay 98c (american) just so you can win virtual gold.
Who said you can’t make money off nothing?
Also considering that site is PG 13, why is there gambling allowed?

*Mao’s Last Dancer being released as a movie. A brilliant adaptation from the book. Well acted and shot.
* Steve o’s (Jackass fame) campaign to stop frog dissection in schools

Aussie TV - has wednesday night become the new saturday
Tonight saw the launch of two new shows and the reunion of an old Australian Favourite in Hey Hey it's Saturday. Personally I'm quite pleased to see it back on temporarily and would like to see how well it went in the ratings. Maybe we'll see it come back in the 2010 line up for Channel 9.
On Channel 10 we saw Celebrity Masterchef start which was also quite good, and really well set out. Kudos go to them.
Unfortunately for me, the ABC's new 9pm show The Hungry Beast, for me was an epic fail.
Why?
Well I had high expectations, I thought it might be a mix of Jtv and the Chaser but alas all I got was apathy with a title sequence that sneakily familiar to Jtv's except for it turning into a "beast"
Yep apathy.
Now I'm a cynical malcontent, but seriously, a whole show on apathy is really only going to entertain for so long, maybe the emo's will find it ace, but that's all. Whilst I like the fake report about gulibilty, the bagging out of internet support for social/political issues is a kinda lame bird to shot at, and wtf was that thing about the cat.
This show should've had a first season launch on ABC 2 just to test the waters before going to ABC to work out the kinks.
